Living in the Now brings a Higher Consciousness

The concept of living in the now is very confusing to many people because humanity is familiar with a time based society. This has been ingrained on people for so long everything is founded on it; therefore it’s very challenging to think outside of this standard.

To get one’s head around the concept of living in the now, imagine where you have been or where you want to be; in other words focus on the future and the past. Most people will summon up images of a dream life or a vacation they have always wanted to go on if they gaze into the future. Recalling the past, often the first events which come to mind are getting married, summer holidays and so on. This provides a clear distinction of the past and the
future.

Thinking of past or future events is not living in the now.

This may be uncomfortable for many as a sudden realization comes over them that they are cognisant of living in the now moment. The mind often cannot relate to it and panics by creating diversions and chattering endlessly. The majority of people will quickly become side-tracked back into living in the past and future because the mind creates fear over this new finding by summoning images and thoughts from the past or making one worry about the future. 

The mind has not been trained to live in the now moment, it has been taught to look ahead into the future or recall past historic events. Whether it is one minute ago, the day before, or ten years ago it is still considered the past,and the mind races to make reference points to it by categorizing it into the logical brain. Future events are also presumed by the logical mind rationalizing upcoming dates which may be important. The mind will do anything to retain control so be aware of these tactics to divert one from the now.
So what really drives this undeveloped behaviour in humanity? 

Fear has been placed into the minds of mankind through many means, it is this anxiety which feeds into the logical mind and has it racing back and forth between future and past events. Depending on how people deal with this fear, it directly affects the behaviour and belief system each have. When the feeling of being unbalanced is recognized, one must desire to bring poise back to themselves; this is achieved by living in the now moment.

There are ways to bring a calm feeling into every moment. A tried and true technique that works is deep breathing as it will compose and sooth a person who feels distressed. Various methods have been used by masters through the ages to live in the moment, among them; yoga, meditation, visualizations, going within, affirmations and others. Seek out what works for you as it is of importance to discover ways of calming one’s mind and getting to know who you really are.
Should a day appear when anxiety becomes prevalent, the best way to center oneself is to stop the mind from wandering and live in the now. This brings comfort from the babbling mind and enables one to go within and become calm. One important item to remember, please do not assume there are hard and fast rules that apply to everyone on how to become calm because people are different. If meditation does not work, try affirmations. If one cannot sit still, try walking in nature, eventually the connection will open up and one will be in admiration of what is around them in the now as it unfolds. 

Be grateful for the now moment because it is a method of self discipline, awareness and consciousness which assists in achieving serenity and opens up spiritual connections to the higher self and all that is. Simply put it makes life much simpler and better.
It’s important to note this new found revelation because it is from the now point reality runs; it determines the future through the actions and thoughts of the present. Be mindful and careful of what one thinks about and throw away all the nonsense being taught by mainstream society by unlearning what has been learned. The new age is all about discovering oneself and living in the moment. 

This information is the key to obtaining a higher consciousness level because it puts one in control of thoughts and interactions every moment of the day. With this mastery words are not spoken that do not need to be and thoughts which are negative are identified and remedied quickly. This empowers life exponentially because energy is not wasted on irrelevant conversation from the mind.

Achieving a higher consciousness starts with living in the now. Once this door is opened a domino effect of peace and tranquility will start to envelop a person because the connection to god is always there, only this enhances it. Learn to quiet the mind, stop worrying about the present and past, and live in the now; this approach to life will change everything.
