Distract the Ego by doing the things you Love

In a world riddled with worries about the latest news, debt, the state of the world and so on, it’s very easy to find oneself deep into the abyss of negative thinking. This frame of mind can last for minutes, hours, days, weeks, months or even years; it really depends on how quickly one recognizes the signs and takes matters into their hands to try and correct them.
Spirituality is a very important factor in the healing process from the negative to the positive, but even if people practice enlightened thinking they can slip backwards without even being aware of it. Believe it or not, it’s very easy to forget much of what is learned regarding spirituality, if life does not go the intended way within a certain time frame. The mind starts to look for excuses and sooner or later it finds them. It’s at this point the heart center needs the intuitive connection the most, but can be overwhelmed by the chatter box called the mind.
The mind likes to rule the physical human being; it uses the ego to launch the offensive and slowly starts to take control of daily life. For people who are not spiritual, this is a regular occurrence; however for folks that have delved into looking at life completely differently through open-minded eyes, they too can be overtaken!

Nothing seems to ever go as planned, thus the ego takes every opportunity to regain control of the mind; and will use tactics to reinforce the spiritual direction was nothing more than a big waste of time. It backs up its claims by displaying not much has changed and uses fear as the main tactic to get one back on the side of limited left side of the brain logical thinking. Sooner or later, if the person does not notice this; they find themselves suppressed spiritually and their connection to the divine inner self starts to wane.
The biggest factor is fear, when this has taken over - events that never seemed to be irritable in the past - weigh on one's mind. As it does, decisions are made based on negative thinking instead of positive thinking. |
The key is noticing the takeover; if it is missed it can send emotions spiraling downward. Discipline is important, but even that barrier can be traversed by the slick ego. Usually the telltale sign is anger and negative thinking. One starts to put the blame on anything for the state of mind they are in and everything is someone else's fault! Another giveaway is when people tend to avoid certain subjects with you during social outings and appear uncomfortable being around you; when formerly the behavior from other people was more positive. If this is happening it’s time to take action and gets the state of flux going towards the right direction again!
To start the processes of healing oneself go back to doing the things one loves the most. It could be anything, such as; walking, bicycling, gardening, taking care of pets, reading, exercising, preparing healthy meals, playing games and so on. The best tonic of all is to get out into nature and look at the beauty; this will surely start the healing process towards the positive emotions again.
Once the ladder of emotions starts the ascent, the ego will attempt to jump up and down again and bring fear back to the forefront. It is essential to recognize the tactics of the mind at this point because the ego is desperate not to lose control. Fear, lack and desperation will be on the edge of the mind constantly! This is the point where the person hits a tipping point and really needs to work through the depressing, anxiety filled feelings and continue to do the things they love. |

Life is not a bowl of cherries as my wise old Aunt used to say, if it was it would be much easier. However, attaining and maintaining spiritual thinking and heart felt love and gratitude will put the ego back where it belongs. Remember the most important rule in life is to love yourself and others while blessing everything around you; this will disintegrate the darkness on the planet and bring the light back to everyone, kick starting the golden age of Gaia! |
